Subcommittees

Extraction plays an important role in metallurgical, pharmaceuticals and petrochemical processes due to the advantage of high selectivity, mild condition and low energy-requirement. For realizing sustainable development, interests are growing on recycling resources, saving-energy and lowering environmental impact. Extraction is highly expected to play more significant role, and current research fields are extended to the recovery of valuable metals from "urbane mines" which are wastes of electrical devices, medical diagnosis and treatment of nuclear wastes.

Members of extraction subdivision are working actively in developing extractants, solvents, devices and operations and also clarifying extraction mechanism and kinetics.
